You know what we love the most are simple stitches that look great. The nice thing about crochet is that combining basic stitches we get beautiful textures, like the stitch we will teach you today: the cluster stitch. It will be perfect for garments you want to work fast, without too much lace.

For this tutorial we used one of our Merifine wool skeins and one size 8 (5 mm) crochet hook. Before beginning, as always, here’s a short list of the stitches and techniques we will use to work the Cluster Stitch:

Let’s begin!

The first thing you need to do is chain an odd number of chains. When you reach desired width of the work, chain 3 more as turning chains and start the next row.

Row 1: in the fourth chain from the hook double crochet 2 stitches together. *Next, skip 1 chain, and in the next stitch double crochet 3 stitches together*.  Repeat from * to * until the end of the row. Turn your work.

Row 2: chain 3 turning chains. Double crochet 2 stitches together in the same stitch where you chained the 3 turning chains. Next, double crochet 3 stitches together in each of the stitches until you reach the end of the row. Chain 3. Turn your work.

To continue working the Cluster Stitch you must repeat Row 2 as many times as you have to until you reach the desired length 🙂

We hope to see your new projects using this new stitch
you just learnt. We are always surprised by how creative our community on
social media is. Remember you can show us your creations with the hashtag #weareknitters.
